We learn with great sadness that our friend Alessio Giovannacci (trombone) died peacefully at Edinburgh Royal Infirmary, on 18th June, 2014. Brief details can be seen here. Anne Richards attended the funeral and sent condolences to his family on our behalf. Alessio was one of the early members of Merchant Sinfonia, and many of us will remember him fondly for his charm and good humour.
Sad news indeed, but I’m glad to hear that Anne was able to attend his funeral and pass on wishes on behalf of The Merchant Sinfonia.
Very sorry to learn about Alessio’s death. A lovely man indeed.
