Music

The music we will be during the spring 2022 session is as follows.

  • McGUIRE – Overture “Revival”; 6″30′. The parts have been circulated by email.
  • ROSSINI – Overture “Barber of Seville” 8″00′. The parts are available free on IMSLP. Note. We will be using the revised version (not the “original” version at the top of the page). You should scroll halfway down the page to find the correct version. (The revised version has transposed parts for clarinet, horn and trumpet.)
  • ALBENIZ – Tango; 2″30′. Goodmusic. The parts for this were used for the curtailed spring 2020 session. If you played in that session, please bring your part if you still have it. Parts for new players will be provided at the first rehearsal.
  • WARLOCK – Capriol Suite; 10″00′; Goodmusic. The parts for this were used for the curtailed spring 2020 session. If you played in that session, please bring your part if you still have it. Parts for new players will be provided at the first rehearsal.
  • PRICE – Symphony no. 1, 3rd mvt ‘Juba Dance’ (arr. Harrington) 3″41; available free from BBC Ten Pieces.
  • COPLAND – Hoe Down (from “Rodeo”); 4″00′; available free from BBC Ten Pieces.
  • BORODIN – Symphony no. 2, 4th mvt “Allegro” ; 8″00′; available free on IMSLP. You need to print out only the 4th/final movement. Either set of parts will do; Louise thinks the print looks marginally clearer in the second set (“Lancec”); however, if you do use this set, check it has the rehearsal figures (the violin 1 part, for example, doesn’t) and, if it doesn’t, write them in using the document “Rehearsal mark locations” at the bottom of that list. Trumpets: scroll to the bottom of the “Lancec” parts (below the “Rehearsal mark locations” document to find parts transposed for trumpet in Bb. Clarinets in Bb: Louise will provide transposed parts.
