Adopt a Composer

We are delighted to have been selected to take part in the 2017-18 Adopt a Composer scheme, paired with composer Anna Appleby.

This is going to be fun, if a little scary. The Adopt a Composer scheme pairs amateur choirs, orchestras and ensembles with a composer for a year culminating in a première performance and a broadcast on BBC Radio 3. Details of the scheme are given here, and there is a nice video (see below) from a previous project that shows what might be in store.

This page will give a running update of the project as it develops, with appropriate links to social media and other sites, and with a comments panel at the bottom (scroll down) for feedback and queries.

Composer: Anna Appleby
Mentor: David Horne

Sponsors: Adopt a Composer is run by Making Music in partnership with Sound and Music (the national agency for new music), in association with BBC Radio 3, and funded by PRS Foundation and the Philip and Dorothy Green Music Trust.
