The next session of the virtual orchestra will take place on Tuesday May 4, at 7:30 pm.

For this session, Louise has chosen two new pieces:

Purcell: Rondeau from Abdelazer. Parts can be downloaded from the BBC Ten Pieces website.

Holst: “Mars” from The Planets Suite. Parts can be downloaded from the BBC Ten Pieces website.

In addition, we will play the following two pieces from the last session:

Elgar: Enigma Variations no. 9 (“Nimrod”). Parts can be downloaded from the IMSLP website. (You only need to download no. 9.) [Louise will have the recording in the correct key this week!]

Haydn: Trumpet Concerto, 3rd mvt. Parts can be downloaded from the BBC Ten Pieces website.

A transposed trumpet part for this is available. Please contact the librarians using the website’s Contact form if you need this.

The dates of all the sessions can be found on the Rehearsals page.

An invitation to the session, with a link that will cover this and the remaining two sessions, has been sent out by email. If you don’t receive an email and would like to take part, please contact us using the Enquiries form.
