As some of you may have noticed, our website has been inaccessible (for some of us) over the last few days, but pleased to report that normal service has now been resumed.
The reasons for this glitch remain obscure – starting with a hiccup in our domain name registration on Monday, it evolved into a “DNS server error”, and finally into a “local ISP issue” that flummoxed the combined expertise of an eminent economist, a retired theoretical physicist, and two internet supply company experts.
Happily, for reasons best known to itself and the dark forces of the interweb, the problem spontaneously resolved itself this evening.
As far as we are aware, this incident is unrelated to today’s massive malware attack on other systems. No confidential data were compromised (we don’t have any), and no ransom was paid.
